Gulf News readers may recall that two years ago, I wrote a column lamenting the talk that a Saudi cleric had given in the UAE insisting that Earth does not rotate, neither around itself nor around the Sun; I described the moment as a debacle” and tried to draw lessons from it. This American Chemical Society program awards renewable scholarships of up to $5,000 to underrepresented students who want to enter the fields of chemistry or chemistry-related fields, such as environmental science, toxicology and chemical technology. Ranked number one by the National Science Foundation for research expenditures, the College of Science is dedicated to the pursuit of science studies. Science allows children to make play dough, cookies, slime and all sorts of other gross and fun things.

Ashland Biology, Toxicology and Chemistry faculty invite Ashland middle schoolers to our Science Center for a variety of lab activities each semester. Jennifer (Miller) Tully graduated from Ashland in 2011 with a B.S. in Geology and a in Integrated Science Education. The magazine is written by a staff of experienced science journalists, many with Ph.D.s in scientific disciplines.

The Inland Empire Creation Science Association presents Bruce Malone speaking on How to Fold a Rock. The pre-conference will also feature a poster session, and we will offer a limited number of $200 travel reimbursements to undergraduate or graduate students who are first authors on accepted posters. This new scandal is much worse, because it does not come from a cleric (that was bad enough) but rather from a PhD student in science, her supervisor held the Professor rank (the highest in academia), and they were explicitly rejecting major parts of modern science. We plan to post similar stories about other science alumni in the future, so keep checking back.
