KejaMove, a Nairobi-based moving and relocation company, has launched an automated moving quotation service on WhatsApp. The service, called the KejaMove AI Assistant, allows customers to get instant moving quotes, retrieve previous quotes, order packing materials, and get answers to common moving questions, all within a single WhatsApp chat.

The KejaMove AI Assistant is available by sending “Hi” to 0723 474 252. For eligible home and domestic long-distance moves, the assistant collects move details directly in the chat and uses the same pricing engine as the KejaMove website to generate a quote.

How the KejaMove AI Assistant Works

The assistant can calculate the cost of a move, generate a formal quotation, and send it to the customer in the conversation. KejaMove founder and CEO Joshua Mutua said, “We’ve spent years building technology to take the guesswork and delays out of moving quotations. Bringing that technology to WhatsApp was the natural next step because that’s where our customers already talk to us.”

KejaMove had previously launched an AI-powered instant quoting system on its website in September. The WhatsApp assistant uses the same underlying engine, extending it to the channel most customers already use to share locations, send photos of furniture, and ask questions mid-move.

Debugging and Testing

During testing, the assistant encountered an issue with location resolution. An ordinary Nairobi trip from Umoja to Donholm was briefly priced as though it covered roughly 312 kilometers. They resolved the issue by improving the location resolution to match the actual geography served by KejaMove.

Customers can now drop a WhatsApp location pin instead of typing an address for more precise location resolution. The assistant can also look up past quotations by phone number, take orders for packing materials, and open inquiries for services that aren’t priced automatically, such as office moves and international relocation.

Using the KejaMove AI Assistant

Using the new assistant is straightforward. Customers tell the assistant their home size, share their move locations, and get an instant quote and PDF if the move qualifies for automatic pricing. The assistant can also arrange follow-up with KejaMove’s team if a move needs a survey instead of an instant price.

Customers can ask to speak to a person at any point in the chat or call or WhatsApp KejaMove directly. The KejaMove AI Assistant is live now on WhatsApp, and customers can start a chat by messaging 0723 474 252 or get the same quote from the KejaMove website.

KejaMove was selected to join Alibaba’s eFounders Fellowship in 2019, and Joshua Mutua has been writing about e-commerce and digital tools since at least 2018. The company’s new AI Assistant is a significant development in the moving services industry, making it easier for customers to get instant quotes and arrange moves.
