Triply launches all-in-one platform for African travel agencies - african travel platform
Founded in 2021, the company now supports more than 500 travel businesses across six African markets.

Triply is transforming how African travel agencies handle their operations by combining itinerary planning, bookings, customer management, and payments into one unified system. Based in Nairobi, the company specifically addresses the needs of businesses that still depend on spreadsheets, messaging platforms, and separate tools to manage their daily tasks.

Founded in 2021, the company now supports more than 500 travel businesses across six African markets. Its platform eliminates disjointed processes, allowing agents to generate quotes, book flights and accommodations, maintain customer relationships, and process payments, including cross-border transactions, without switching between different applications.

CEO Peter Wachira explains the challenges agencies face: “Running a travel business involves much more than taking a booking. Operators need to prepare quotes, secure flights and accommodation, manage customers, and move money reliably, often across borders.” By centralizing these functions, Triply reduces the need for manual coordination, from checking availability to reconciling transactions.

Rather than compete directly with consumer-facing travel booking websites, Triply focuses on the businesses that organize and sell trips. While competitors such as Tripesa and Reserve Trip primarily handle reservations and supplier connections, Triply integrates financial tools. Its collaboration with Choice Microfinance Bank provides secure payment processing, transaction monitoring, and supplier settlements, a feature lacking in many existing solutions.

The company cites Virtue Explorers as an example, reporting a 40% reduction in lead drop-off and a cut of more than 50% in international payment costs through virtual cards. Its payment security technology helped protect $8,000 belonging to Tulivu Holidays from potential chargeback losses.

Triply’s reported adoption and industry recognition suggest it has established a presence in African travel technology. However, its longer-term value will depend on whether agencies find it affordable, reliable, and easier to use than their existing arrangements.
